However, in Zhangqiu City, Gong Chuanrui’s home appeared in this box of 200 milliliter bags of “red jujube sour milk,” and it was actually broken for a year without actually exposing it. It really hurt us.

Zhao Xiangzhong, a professor of food and bioengineering at Shandong Institute of Light Industry, said that milk contains carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, pectin, xanthan gum and other thickeners and stabilizers. The milk did not degenerate. One may add more stabilizers and no stratification; another may use preservatives.

Perhaps this is only an example, but we cannot ignore the problems that have been exposed. First, how is the freshness of milk accurately defined? Obviously, if you only let the producers have the final say, it would be like having one person be both a referee and an athlete. It will inevitably be unfair and consumers’ rights will not be effectively guaranteed.

Second, the food regulators only supervised the milk production process, but they are still in the regulatory gap in terms of the shelf life.

Third, it is difficult to guarantee that there are no brand-name counterfeit products in the market. According to many media reports, after the implementation of strict food supervision in the city, some unscrupulous manufacturers have extended their black hands to remote towns that are difficult to monitor and are lagging behind. The rural market is facing greater threats. This is a problem that is placed in front of the food regulatory authorities and farmers in remote areas.

The anxiety that food safety brings to us is universal, and we really are already in an environment that can't be hurt. We hope that those manufacturers will have a little more conscience and morality, abide by the ethics of business, and not let the "strong moon cakes" that have been unraveled for eight years, and the "strong milk" that can still be drunk after one year, irritate our nerves.

It is time to check the shelf life of milk bags. How long can the milk be kept fresh? It is not enough for the manufacturer alone to have the final say. The food terminal consumer is the one who has the right to speak.
