Food additive industry needs improvement in 7 areas

Food additives are an important part of the food industry and play an important role in promoting the development of the food industry. However, the existence of many problems has affected the healthy development of this industry.

Recently, at the meeting of the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Food Additives and Ingredients Association held in Nanjing, Chen Qiuqiang, chairman of the association, pointed out that China's food additives industry has problems such as lack of economic growth, difficulty in inter-provincial protection against discrimination, and blind investment. In order to promote the development of the food additive industry, these issues must be resolved as soon as possible.

The second session of the second session of the Jiangsu Food Additives and Ingredients Association (expanding) meeting was held recently. More than 30 people, including leaders and governing units of the association, representatives of specially invited organizations and individuals, attended the meeting. Participants had heated discussions on the problems and development measures in the food additive industry and agreed that industry associations should play a greater role in service and communication. First, the participating companies and university representatives expressed their active participation. There is a strong willingness to formulate and revise national food safety standards for food additives and ingredients, and it is hoped that the association can play a more active role in leading and promoting it. Second, the delegates hope that the association can organize member companies to organize delegations to participate in overseas exhibitions and help companies develop international markets. The third is that the participating food additives production enterprises proposed that the association would appeal to the relevant government authorities to change the original production licenses declared according to the variety to categories according to categories in order to effectively reduce the burden on enterprises.

Chen Qiuqiang, chairman of the Jiangsu Food Additives and Ingredients Association, pointed out that China's food additive industry is facing many problems, of which seven are urgently needed to solve: 1. Weak economic growth. 2. The non- benign social environment affects the healthy development of the industry, such as non-professional media and pseudo-speculative indiscriminate hype, intensified consumer misunderstandings and panic of food additives. 3. Product pre-approval conditions conflict. 4. The name of the compounded food additive in the business license is not standardized. 5. Cross-provincial difficulties in defending rights. 6. The blind investment in the domestic food additive industry. 7. Food additive standards are lagging behind.

The existence of these seven major issues has seriously affected the development of China's food additive industry. Chairman Chen Qiuqiang believes that in order to promote the development of China's food additive industry, effective measures should be adopted in many aspects: First, strengthen the guidance of public opinion, scientific understanding, rational treatment of food additives, and proper use of food additives. The second is to involve industry associations and key enterprises in the formulation of food additive standards and regulations. The standard issue has a direct impact on the survival and development of food additive companies. At present, domestic food additives industry still has the problem of lagging behind in the formulation and revision of standards. In particular, many companies in the industry are deeply troubled by the lack of product standards and the inability to apply for production licenses. Seriously affected the normal production and operation of the company. In order to solve such problems, the association should actively participate in the formulation and revision of national food safety standards. The third is to allow the use of flavors and fragrances after re-examination. Fourth, industry associations participate in the formulation of industry plans and project approvals to avoid blind investments. Fifth, industry associations participate in the formulation of industry industrial policies. Sixth, establish an access system for employees in the industry. Seventh, encourage enterprises to adopt international advanced standards for production. Eighth, we must accelerate the establishment of an industry credit system. Ninth, industry associations are involved in the qualification review and daily supervision of food additive companies. Tenth, establish a spokesperson system for incidents in the food additive industry.
